LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Residents from Morning Pointe Senior Living Center stopped by Nest Child Care Center with a surprise for the students Monday morning.
They donated 30 backpacks and school supplies to get the kids ready for kindergarten.
The Nest is a day care center for low-income families.
“When you think about the necessities, school supplies and backpacks, they get put on the back burner,” said Sheri Estill who is the director of crisis care at The Nest.
All the extra backpacks and supplies will be donated to other families in need at The Nest.
“It warms your heart to know that there are people still active, still out there fundraising and getting donations for kids who are less fortunate,” said Estill.
