Bourgeois murder, dismemberment case waived to grand jury


LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington man accused of murdering and dismembering his ex-girlfriend appeared in court Monday.

During a previous court hearing — Patrick Jones, 24, plead not guilty to the murder of  Haley Bourgeois who is also the mother of his child.

Monday Jones’ case was waived to a grand jury.

Police say  20-year-old Haley Bourgeois was found murdered two weeks ago.

Parts of Bourgeois’ dismembered body were found in dumpsters around Malabu Drive. She died of multiple blunt force trauma, according to the coroner. Investigators say the weapon used to kill her was a wrench.

In addition to the murder charges — Jones is also charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence.
