UPDATE: Robbery arrest made in fatal Owsley Co. shooting

BOONEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – An arrest has been made in connection to a shooting in Owsley Co. just before 5:00 a.m. Tuesday morning that left one man dead and sent a woman to the hospital.

Troopers say 37-year-old Jamie Farthing, 42-year-old Charles Harris II, and 36-year-old Linda Peters went to a home off of HWY 846 and attempted to rob the homeowner.

Officers say Charles Harris was armed with a handgun, but was fatally shot by the homeowner.

Harris was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Owsley County Coroner.  Linda Peters was shot in the arm during the incident and has been taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Jamie Farthing was arrested and taken to the Three Forks Regional Jail charged with Robbery.

Kentucky State Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Owsley County.

Troopers say it happened just before 5:00 a.m. on on Highway 846 near Booneville.

Officers say a homeowner told them a man showed up at their home with a gun.

The homeowner then shot and killed the man, according to Troopers.

Officers say a woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
