LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal crash in the Whitley City community of McCreary Co.

Troopers say they received report of a crash on US HWY 27 at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Investigators say a Chevrolet minivan traveling northbound rear-ended a moped.

Police say the rider of the moped, 46-year-old David Jackson, was not wearing a helmet.  He was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, where he later died, according to the Fayette Co. Coroner.

Officers say no drug or alcohol use is suspected.
