LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Some people in Lexington will get a raise starting Friday.
Last year, the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council voted to increase the minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $10.10 an hour. The increase, however, happens in stages.
The first stage starts Friday with the minimum wage in Fayette Co. rising to $8.20 an hour.
A year from now, the minimum wage will go up again, to $9.15 an hour.
Finally, on July 1, 2018, it will rise again to $10.10 an hour.
