(CNN/WTVQ)- If you plan on driving or flying this 4th of July — expect to be in the company of millions doing the same.
43-million Americans will travel this Independence Day weekend, according to AAA. That will make it the highest 4th of July travel volume on record.
AAA says more than 36 million people will drive to their destination, while 3.3 million Americans will fly.
If you are flying expect to see heavier security at airports because of the recent airport attack in Turkey.
Homeland Security Secretary, Jeh Johnson is encouraging travelers to use caution. “We continue to encourage the public to travel, to associate, to celebrate the July 4th Holiday, but be aware and be vigilant,” he said.
In some major airports, travelers will see patrols equipped with tactical weapons and equipment.
A note to those driving in state — Kentucky State Police will be on the roads in full force as part of the “drive sober or get pulled over” campaign.
