Donations being collected to help victims in WV


WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two Winchester organizations are gathering up donations to be sent to West Virginia to aid people recovering from severe weather and deadly flooding in the area.

Leggett & Platt, along with the Beacon of Hope are asking for non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, hygiene items, and household supplies, along with monetary donations. Also, organizers are reminding the public of the need for animal care, in the form of dog food, cat food, and litter.

Finally, organizers are asking for small toys, crayons, or coloring books — something to make a difference for children that have lost most of their belongings.


People interested in donating can bring items to the following locations:

Donations will be accedpted until Sunday, July 3.
