SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Pulaski Co. Sheriff says there were two accidents in Somerset on Tuesday.
According to the Sheriff, the first one happened around 9:30 a.m. on West HWY 80. Deputies say 73-year-old James C. McDonald was driving eastbound when he lost control of his pickup. The truck went off the road, into a ditch, and rolled over on its top. The Pulaski Co. Rescue Squad was able to get McDonald out of the wreck, say deputies, and he was then airlifted to University of Kentucky Medical Center. His condition is unknown.
Later on Tuesday, at about 3:30 p.m., the Sheriff says a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of West HWY 80 and Lees Ford Dock Road sent one person to the hospital. According to deputies 62-year-old Pamela S. Murray was making a left turn onto the highway from Lees Ford Dock Road, but didn’t see an eastbound Nissan heading towards her. The car ran into Murray’s Oldsmobile in the side. A third car, also headed eastbound on the highway, then struck the Nissan.
Murray was treated at the scene and taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Her condition is also unknown.
