RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – U.S. 25X in Madison County will be designated the “Officer Daniel Ellis Memorial Highway,” and its sign will be unveiled next week, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The Richmond Police officer was gunned down in the line of duty last year.
The General Assembly authorized the road designation. The section of road is U.S. 25X between its two intersections with U.S. 25. The limits are mile point 0.000 to mile point 3.644, according to the state.
The sign marking the road will be unveiled on Thursday, May 19, at 3:00 p.m. at the Richmond Police Station at 1721 Lexington Road.
