Today’s strong winds left damage throughout central Kentucky. Road crews work to remove debris after a huge tree comes toppling down blocking the right of way in a Jessamine County neighborhood. A large tree was uprooted in a neighborhood on Paddock Drive in Nicholasville. It’s just one of several trees that came down in that area. The tree was sitting right along the creek bed running through homeowner Paula Hunsaker’s front yard.
“It was just a loud crash. I’m so thankful no one was driving by. And I’m thankful that no one got hurt and that it didn’t hit anybody’s house.”
Down the way neighbors say another tree caught fire, knocking out the power with it. Blue Grass Energy was on scene this afternoon working to turn it back on.
