LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people suffered minor injuries when the SUV they were in hit a train in Lexington Friday afternoon. According to witnesses, a woman tried to stop in front of railroad tracks on Waveland Museum Lane. For some reason, she couldn’t stop, swerved around other stopped vehicles at the crossing and hit the train. The SUV ended up in a ditch.
The driver and her passenger were hurt. Waveland Museum Lane is often used as a cut through by drivers as it connects Nicholasville Road and Winthrop Drive.
