LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in London say a man and a woman were arrested in the parking lot of a Speedway on KY 192 after being found asleep in a car with drugs on them.
Officers say on Sunday they received a complaint call about the two people. When they arrived, police say they found 29-year old Robert L. Collins (pictured, above,) and 26-year-old Amanda M. Eversole in the car.
Investigators say Collins was in the passenger seat, slumped over with a lit cigarette between his legs, while Eversole was asleep in the driver’s seat. After awakening the two, officers say they told them they were waiting for family to bring them money.
Upon further investigation, police discovered that neither Eversole nor Collins had identification on them, and that they didn’t have insurance on the vehicle. After receiving consent to search, officers say they found a metal spoon with powder residue, a metal pipe, several plastic baggies, and four hypodermic needles. Within one of the plastic bags was white powder residue, which was determined through a field test to be Methamphetamine. Also found was a glass pipe and rolling papers.
Collins was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, buying/possessing drug paraphernalia. Eversole was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, buying/possessing drug paraphernalia, and failure to maintain required insurance.
Both were taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
