BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say they are receiving reports out of Knox Co. of a phone scam.
According to officers the scam caller will impersonate a Federal IRS Agent from Washington, D.C. and will ask for money in reference to unpaid taxes. Troopers say the callers are very aggressive, will have personal information on the victim, and will even threaten to send a federal officer to the home with an arrest warrant.
KSP is warning residents to not provide personal information or credit card numbers over the phone.
