MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Madison County Sheriff’s Office says a man in a stolen car hit one of its cruisers, then led deputies on a chase.
It says it started around 9:30 Friday morning on U.S. 25 at KY 499 (Crooksville Road.) Deputies say they pulled a man over. And when they made contact with him, they say he took off and collided with a sheriff’s office cruiser, then drove off.
Deputies say they chased the vehicle as it turned onto U.S. 421. They say they later lost sight of it on Log Cabin Road. According to the sheriff’s office, it was later found abandoned on Arthur Jackson Road.
Investigators say they found the driver and a passenger a short time later hiding in a field near Log Cabin Road.
The sheriff’s office says 20-year-old Taylor Hampton of Richmond and 27-year-old Jasmine Roberson of Berea were arrested.
It says Hampton was charged with Speeding, Fleeing and Evading 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (police officer), Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree, No Operator’s License, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, and Theft by Unlawful Taking (firearm).
Investigators say Roberson was charged with Fleeing and Evading 2nd Degree, Receiving Stolen Property under $500, and Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree (drug unspecified).
