Ohio man facing Kentucky murder, theft charges

BLAINE, Ky. (AP) – An Ohio man has been charged with murdering two family members in Kentucky and stealing a vehicle that belonged to one of the relatives.

Kentucky State Police said 47-year-old Stanley Webb Jr. of Logan, Ohio was arrested Sunday on charges of auto theft and possession of a firearm by a felon.

A day earlier, police responded to a report that 79-year-old Lois C. Gartin and 52-year-old Michael Gartin of Blaine had been found dead in their home. Police said both died of gunshot wounds. The Daily Independent in Ashland said Michael Gartin is Lois Gartin’s stepson.

On Monday, Webb was charged with two counts of murder. He is being held in jail in Columbus, Ohio, awaiting extradition.
