LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – It was a big day at Paul Laurence Dunbar. The Bulldog boys’ basketball team was celebrated in style.
S.T. Roach was packed to the brim by the student body, alumni and staff. All on hand to recognize the school’s first hardwood state title.
Mayor Jim Gray was also there to proclamate March as Dunbar month.
It was all because the Dogs were able to snag the state championship trophy over the weekend…beating Doss 61-52 at Rupp Arena (or Pupp Arena as the DogPound likes to call it).
Head coach Scott Chalk took his turn at the mic and later weighed in on the whole experience finally soaking in.
Hear from an excited Chalk in the video.
