Two men arrested after leading KSP on a car chase


LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – KSP Detective Nick Metcalf reports seeing a 2016 KIA Sorento driving recklessly on March 3.

At approximately 2:50 p.m., Detective Metcalf says he activated his emergency equipment to stop the vehicle that was running other motorists of the roadway.

Douglas S. Jackson, the driver of the Sorento, accelerated and prompted a chase from troopers. Jackson struck another motorist, but continued driving westbound on Hal Rogers Parkway. He turned onto Morentown Road and lost control of the vehicle. Jackson and another man jumped out of the vehicle and tried to run away.

Troopers say they apprehended both men after a short pursuit on foot. The vehicle had been stolen, says officials, and the other man was identified as John W. Storer.

Jackson was charged with:

  • Receiving Stolen Property – $10k or more
  • Wanton Endangerment
  • Fleeing or Evading Police
  • Driving under the influence
  • Numerous other traffic charges

Storer was charged with

  • Receiving Stolen Property – $10k or more
  • Posession of Marijuana,
  • Posession of Drug paraphernalia
  • Public Intoxication
  • Resisting arrest
  • Assaulting a police officer
