MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) – Voters will decide in June whether to approve alcohol sales in Mayfield.

Media reports that Graves County Clerk Barry Kennemore certified that enough voter signatures were on a petition submitted last week and Judge-Executive Jesse Perry scheduled the local option election on June 28.

Kennemore said the group Yes For Mayfield needed to have 424 certified signatures and he stopped counting after verifying 455.

The election date was set for June so that it wouldn’t be within 30 days of the May primary due to state law.
