FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – According to the Attorney General’s Cyber Crimes Unit, a Fayette county man was arrested last week after using the internet to seek a minor for sex.
According to cyber investigators, 57 year old Christopher Graeme McElhone caught their attention after posting an online ad; “a mature man looking for a high school hottie.”
Investigators say they created a persona – a minor – to interact with McElhone online. They report McElhone responded to the underage persona, and attempted to solicit ‘her’ for sex acts.
Cyber investigators executed a search warrant for electronic devices he had been using for illegal solicitation, on February 19, and found 17 marijuana plants and growing equipment.
McElhone, who was present at the time of the search, allegedly admitted to talking with the underage persona. Investigators say he also admitted to growing the plants.
He was arrested, and officials say his attempt to procure a minor for sex and the cultivation of more than five marijuana plants are both felonies.
