DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Danville Police report they responded to a call at Crescent Drive, which sparked an investigation into possible child neglect.
Officers report they arrested 51 year old Lisa Baugh, who was charged with Public Intoxication, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and Child Abandonment.
After officers discovered the juvenile victim was in great need of food, one of the officers took her to a nearby McDonald.
While taking their breakfast order, the female employee taking their order respectfully refused the officer’s payment. She took it upon herself to pay the meal herself, and offered the child an extra portion of milk to go with their breakfast.
Before the two left the restaurant, the same unidentified employee approached them, and offered the child a toy – which was happily accepted.
On their Facebook page, the Danville PD said the following: “The Danville Police Department would like to acknowledge this small, but powerful act of kindness. It is random acts of kindness, like this one, that reminds us that this community has plenty of caring people, and when given the opportunity, will react positively and with empathy. Thank You!”
