FRENCHBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) -A fire in Menifee Co. has destroyed a gas station and damaged two nearby businesses.
Firefighters say the flames began at the Trade Mart around 6:00 p.m. Wednesday night. Several engines from different counties including Bath and Montgomery responded to the fire. According to firefighters, the fire went through the roof and spread to two other businesses next door. Those businesses, an army surplus store and a laundromat were closed for the day.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but one of the business owners tells us it might be an electrical issue that caused the spark.
At least 20 people are now unemployed after the fire. The owner tells ABC 36 that he plans to rebuild.
No injuries were reported.
