LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A group of Lexington firefighters will be on the floor to help a fellow firefighter.
Matt Logsdon is a firefighter with fire station #8 in Lexington. Last month, he was diagnosed with stage four cancer. Logsdon is now being treated in Chicago at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
Thursday night, a team of Lexington firefighters will hit the basketball court in his honor. Firefighter Kyle Branham says University of Kentucky Athletics offered to let the team play at Rupp Arena for five minutes during halftime of University of Kentucky’s game against Tennessee.
Nike is even making special jerseys for the firefighters.
Branham says they want to use the time to show their support for Logsdon.
A gofundme page has been set up for Logsdon. Nearly $30,000 dollars has been raised, so far.
