HINDMAN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Golden Alert was issued Friday evening by Kentucky State Police for a missing Knott County man who suffers from Alzheimer’s. 84-year old Jennings Ritchie left his home on Francis Hollow just after 5:00 a.m. Friday, driving a 2002 Chevy Silverado extended cab, Z-package, pickup truck with license plate 776-HBE, according to KSP. The pickup has damage to the tailgate.
Jennings Ritchie, who also goes by John R. Ritchie, is approximately 5’8,” 220 lbs., with blue eyes, thinning silver/white hair, wears dentures and glasses and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue button-up shirt, according to State Police.
He has a surgical scar on his chest from open heart surgery and should have a wedding band, according to investigators. He requires medication for dementia and heart issues.
Family members say Ritchie has been talking lately of going to unknown locations in Mississippi and Indiana, but could also be on his way to Lexington or Pikeville.
