LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say a man is lucky to be alive following a crash in Lexington.
It happened just after 3 a.m. as the driver was going outbound on Georgetown Road
Police say he went off the road, into a ditch and ended up on Innovation Drive. He then hit a utility pole so hard it was severed and held up only by the wires. The car then flipped several times, striking small trees along the way.
Police say the driver had to be cut from the vehicle after the wreck.
However, police say he was taken to the hospital with only minor injuries.
Kentucky Utilities responded to the scene to repair the broken utility pole.
