SPRINGFIELD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man already in jail was charged with murder in a Washington County shooting, according to State Police. Investigators say 47-year old Eric Saylor of Lancaster was in the Marion County jail on unrelated charges, when he was charged in the shooting death of 53-year old Shane Thomason, a farmer from Lancaster.
Investigators say Thomason was found shot at the Washington County Livestock Center on Monday, February 1, 2016. He later died at a Louisville hospital.
State Police did not say what led them to charge Saylor with Thomason’s murder. Saylor is being held in jail on a $1 million bond.
The case remains under investigation.
