City plow drivers and contracted plow drivers continue to clear roads throughout Lexington. Plow drivers started pretreating roads with rock salt as early as Thursday night. Additional contracted crews arrived for their shift at noon. Deputy Director of Lexington Streets and Roads Department says crews will continue to work around the clock, likely through Sunday. Allen says, “Once the precipitation comes to an end the city’s snow plan will go into effect, clearing the most heavily trafficked roads first.” Allen also mentioned that the city’s salt supply is still full due to the lack of snowfall this season, but additional salt and road chemicals are still expected to arrive later tonight.
