LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A snow day has always been a cause of excitement for students, an unexpected burst of freedom from the classroom. But how can children, and their parents, manage to fill that day? The Explorium of Lexington has some ideas.
The children’s museum is offering Snow Day Camps, providing a safe place to be when schools are closed due to weather.
Parents can drop their children off as early as 8:30 a.m., with a pickup time of 5:30 p.m. Kids will get a chance to play in the museum and tap into their curiosity about the world. The exhibits feature almost everything you can think of from a bubble room, to learning about other countries and cultures with the hope of creating a love for learning. The Executive Director says the Explorium of Lexington’s Snow Day Camp can be an educational rescue for parents who need a break or have to go to work.
