London, Ky. (WTVQ) – An elderly woman suffering from dementia, who wandered away from the assisted living home where she was staying, was found dead near the home, a victim of hypothermia, according to the Laurel County coroner.

The coroner says McKnight was not dressed for the cold weather when she walked away from the facility and that she went to a home a few doors away where she fell off the porch, couldn’t get up and ultimately died from the elements.
