WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVQ) – The President gave his State of the Union Address on Tuesday, and in the audience, Kim Davis.
The Rowan Co. clerk was there at the invite of Congressman Jim Jordan of Ohio.
Jordan’s office says the Family Research Council, a conservative lobbying organization to represented Davis, asked Jordan for a ticket on Davis’ behalf.
Each member of Congress gets to invite one person.
Davis was briefly jailed last year when she defied the Supreme Court and refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
Also at last night’s address, the lead plaintiff in that Supreme Court case, Jim Obergefell.
He was invited by the White House.
