London man exposes self, attacks deputies

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel Co. Sheriff says a man has been arrested after attacking a deputy.

The Sheriff says the arrest happened at about 1:40 a.m. Tuesday morning.  According to the Sheriff, deputies were dispatched to investigate a complaint of a man in a storage building behind a home that wouldn’t open the door.  When deputies arrived, the say the man, who had a woman in the building with him, still wouldn’t open the door.  The owner of the storage building was able to get the door open.  That’s when deputies say 35-year-old Michael Medlock became aggressive.

Deputies say Medlock exposed himself to officials, and then began fighting.  Following a struggle, deputies were able to take Medlock into custody.  One of the deputies received a severe laceration to his hand that needed stitches.  That deputies’ uniform was also destroyed.

Medlock was charged with disorderly conduct, alcohol intoxication in a public place, menacing, resisting arrest, terroristic threatening, indecent exposure, assault, and criminal mischief. He was also charged on three Laurel Co. bench warrants of arrest for failure to appear in court.

Medlock was taken to the Laurel Co. Detention Center.
