STANFORD, Ky. (WTVQ)- A woman is dead in Lincoln County, and her daughter is now charged with murder.
Stanford Police say 51-year-old Michelle Stevens was arrested Monday night. She’s charged with murder-domestic violence and being held without bond, according to the Lincoln County Regional Jail Website.
According to investigators, Stevens was found unconscious in the front yard of a home on Upland Drive in Stanford shortly after 8:00 a.m. Monday.
Police say Stevens’ mother, 78-year-old Carolyn Tiller, was found dead in the basement of the home.
Investigators say Stevens was treated at a hospital in Danville and then taken to jail in Stanford.
Police hope an autopsy will provide more details into exactly how Tiller died.
