LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A UK student charged in a drone crash at Commonwealth Stadium pleaded guilty in district court to lesser charges as part of a plea deal.
Peyton Wilson was originally charged with wanton endangerment in the crash, but pleaded guilty to criminal trespassing instead.
That charge comes with a $100 dollar fine.
UK Police Chief Joe Monroe has said Wilson was operating the unmanned aircraft September 5 outside the stadium when he crashed it into the suite level glass on the south side of the stadium. Several fans stood below, but no one was injured. The stadium was not damaged.
