FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington firefighter Jason Stowe was honored Thursday by the Franklin County Fiscal Court for saving the life of a teenaged accident victim.
Last weekend, while on his way home after working a 24-hour shift with the Lexington Fire Department, Stowe came up upon a bad car accident along I-64 in Franklin County.
Two teenaged girls were badly hurt in the crash. Firefighter Stowe improvised a tourniquet to stop the massive bleeding suffered by the young driver, which investigators say saved the girl’s life. The passenger also survived the accident.
Stowe says he was just in the right place at the right time and his instinctive training took over. Many are calling him a humble hero.
