LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – For twenty years now, the Catholic Action Center’s Christmas Store has been making shopping during the holidays easier for families in need.
The store, hosted at Southland Christian Church on Richmond Road, opened at 8:00 a.m. with lines out the door of shoppers eagerly waiting to get in.
Once inside, each family is provided with a personal shopper to go through the store and get the items they desire. All toys and gifts are ready to go home and be placed underneath someone’s Christmas tree. All items are given away for free.
The entire event is made possible through the donations of the community and various churches. They say the ultimate goal is to make the holidays easier for everyone.
The Christmas Store run through Friday, and organizers hopes to help a record number of people this year.
