FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Governor-elect Matt Bevin announced the appointment of John E. Chilton as the State Budget Director on Tuesday.
Chilton has more than forty years of experience as a CPA, focusing on domestic and international income, as well as business valuation, acquisition, disposition and reorganization. He has served as an advisor and witness in client legal matters.
Chilton graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee. His credentials include Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).
“I am honored to be chosen by Governor-Elect Bevin for this post,” says Chilton. “Governor Bevin is a principled businessman with the courage to make the tough decisions needed to get our fiscal house in order. I am humbled by this opportunity to serve the Commonwealth.”
Chilton has served a number of professional and community organizations including American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants (KyCPA), Leadership Kentucky, and Board of Prodigal Ministries, Inc.
Chilton lives in Louisville with his spouse Jane. They have a son in the Los Angeles area.
