LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A rollover crash on West Laurel Road in Laurel County led to the DUI arrest of a London man, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say 25-year old Cameron Cornett was driving under the influence shortly before 2:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
Cornett told investigators he was texting while driving and lost control of his Ford Escape while traveling west on KY 192. The right front wheel of the vehicle dropped off the road and it flipped, traveling approximately 85-feet before coming to rest in a ditch, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
Sergeant Larry Parrott says he detected a strong odor of alcohol from Cornett when he arrived at the crash scene. Cornett was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, according to investigators. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
