LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel Co. Sheriff says one person was taken to the hospital with what are called serious injuries after a car crash Sunday night.
The Sheriff says it happened around 9:45 p.m. Sunday evening. Deputies say the driver of a 2006 Toyota Matrix headed westbound on HWY 490 lost control of the car. Investigators say the driver crossed the center line into the oncoming lane of traffic and then struck a tree head-on.
The driver was identified as 34-year-old Steven Lawson of East Bernstadt. Deputies say Lawson was trapped in the wreckage and had to be pulled out by a London Laurel Co. Rescue squad. He was flown from the scene to UK Medical Center for treatment.
