Police wives host bone marrow registry drive for cancer patients


LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Kentucky Auxiliary – Wives Behind The Badge teamed up with Be The Match to host a Marrow Donor Registry Drive on Saturday.

It was held between 10 am and 3 pm at Central Baptist Church as a part of the Tates Creek Dance Team Craft and Vendor Fair. Dannie Moore, along with representatives from the KY Wives Behind the Badge, set up at the craft and vendor fair to sign people up to Be The Match.

The group’s goal is to help raise awareness for police families who have been diagnosed with cancer. Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer and only 3 out of 10 patients find a match within their immediate family.
