RUTLAND, Ky. (WTVQ) – A missing Scott County man was found alive Wednesday in the wreckage of a car, where he had been trapped for several days, according to authorities. Investigators say a passerby noticed a wrecked vehicle 20-to-25 feet down an embankment along Highway 356 near Rutland in Harrison County.
When crews arrived they found 77-year old Wilbur Eugene Harrod inside the vehicle. They said he was conscious, but dehydrated. He was taken to UK Hospital in Lexington to be checked out. Harrod’s family says he was last seen leaving a friend’s home in Sadieville in Scott County on October 23. His family reported him missing the next day. Harrod reportedly suffers from dementia and depression.
