RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Richmond have released names of the people involved in a shooting in Richmond Tuesday that killed one man and sent two other people to the hospital.

Officers say they were sent to Jason Drive yesterday just before 1:00 p.m. on a report of shots being fired.  When they arrived, they say they found two men at an apartment, suffering from gunshot wounds.  Police say one of the men, 57-year-old Steve Thomas Martin, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was fatally wounded.  The other man, 22-year-old Joshua Brown was taken to U.K. Medical Center with a gunshot to the head, according to investigators.

Officers say they also encountered a 21-year-old female a short distance away from the apartment.  They say she had been at the apartment and suffered a gunshot wound to the foot before fleeing the scene.  She, too, was transported to the U.K. Medical Center.  She was the daughter of Martin and has a child-in-common with Brown.

Investigators say they believe Brown shot Martin, shot Martin’s daughter, and then shot himself.  They have not released any details on a motive in the case.  They say the handgun they believe was used in the shooting has been recovered from the apartment.  Officers say there is no indication that anyone else was involved in the shooting.
