LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Business owners in downtown Lexington are hoping for a good week as they throw open their doors to invite the thousands of visitors expected in town for the Breeders’ Cup.
Food trucks are lining Limestone and Short Street to serve up their respective specialties, and extra police patrols have been added to the area. Local restaurants A La Lucie and Sav’s Grill took a moment to speak with ABC 36 about their outlook for the week.
“We’re very excited. Folks are busy. Phone calls calling in from New York, California, Oregon, Canada- it’s exciting, we’re busy. I think it’s going to be a pretty good week,” says Lucie Slone-Meyers, owner of A La Lucie. Mamadou Savane, owner and chef at Sav’s Grill says, “[We’re] excited to see all these people here. Hopefully the weather will cooperate a little bit so people can come out. We are excited to come out. Go Lexington!”
