LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- As we get closer to the Breeders’ Cup, the city wants to make sure it’s ready for the worldwide attention.
Mayor Jim Gray is asking the community to join him this afternoon to help cleanup the downtown area. It’s needed after Sunday’s annual Thriller Parade and concert
The cleanup is taking place from 1:00pm- 4:00pm. Volunteers are asked to stop by the Kentucky Theater or Phoenix Park. The city says they’ll be given gloves and bags, and will be assigned to a location.
“Costumes are welcome, but not required,” says Angela Poe, Environmental Service’s public information and engagement manager. “Come when you can, and stay as long as you want.”
