MOREHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ)-The ACLU says wedding bells have rung for a same-sex couple, denied a marriage license by Rowan County clerk, Kim Davis.
Karen Roberts and April Miller tried to get the license back in July. After Davis refused to grant it, they partnered with the ACLU to push for equal implementation of the law. Their case was one of the cases that led to Davis doing jail time.
Roberts and Miller were married this weekend, holding a reception in Morehead. In an interview, after the ceremony, they spoke about how this wedding was for everyone battling alongside them. We reached out to the Liberty Counsel, representing Kim Davis, for a comment and are waiting for a response.
