KSP Investigating Double Fatality in Letcher County

DRY FORK, Ky. (WTVQ) -Two people have died after a collision on Highway 15 in the Dry Fork community of Letcher Co. Thursday morning.

Troopers say it happened around 11:50 a.m.  According to officers, a Chevrolet pickup traveling north crossed into the southbound lane and hit a Freightliner tractor and trailer.  Two men in the pickup, Joseph Caudill and passenger Bobby Jent were pronounced dead at the scene by the Letcher Co. Coroner.  The driver of the Freightliner was taken to Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Wet road conditions are being considered as the contributing factor in the collision, which remains under investigation.
