RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Richmond couple is accused of using stolen and forged checks.
Police say 22-year old Korey Stamper and 23-year old Heather Stamper were arrested yesterday.
Officers say since last month, the two have forged and cashed more than $1200 worth of stolen checks.
And police say the couple didn’t stop there. According to investigators, Korey Stamper bought something from Walmart with one of the forged checks. They say Heather Stamper later pawned the item to get cash.
According to investigators, Korey Stamper was already in the Madison County Detention Center when he was charged with nine counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree.
They say Heather Stamper was arrested on Meadowlark Drive. She’s charged with Receiving Stolen Property Under $500 and six counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree.
