Trapped dog rescued from sinkhole
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Fire Dept. has rescued a dog after it got trapped in a 50-foot sinkhole on Grimes Mill Road.

The owner says he was on a hike with his father and his dog, "Vader" when the dog fell into the sinkhole.  They contacted the fire department around 12:30 p.m.

Fire officials say they dropped a fiber optic camera down into the sinkhole and saw that the dog was still alive.  They say the dog even licked the fiber optic camera.  Rope rescue response was called in around 2:30 p.m. and were able to get the trapped dog out just before 4:00 p.m.
