Lexington first responders to help in Johnson County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – It’s been about a week since the deadly flooding in Johnson County.

Police officers, firefighters and paramedics there have been working around the clock trying to help their community. And now more help is on the way.

First responders from Lexington are planning to go to Johnson County to help clean up homes and property.

They will leave Thursday evening after collecting supplies/donations and return Sunday.

Donation collection will be Thursday from eight in the morning until four in the afternoon in parking lot of West Sector Roll call, 1795 Old Frankfort Pike.

Donations wanted:
No clothing
Gift cards are recommended: Lowes, Wal-Mart, Gas cards
Food, toiletries, hygiene products
Clean-up supplies
Cards and hand written letters
