First responders help first responders in Johnson Co.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – First responders from the Lexington area will be traveling to Johnson Co. to aid first responders affected by the recent storms and flooding.

A group will be leaving Lexington Thursday, July 23 and staying in the Johnson Co. area until Sunday, July 26.  There will be an interesting behind West Sector Roll Call at 1795 Old Frankfort Pike at 6:00 p.m.  On Thursday, donations will be collected at the same address from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Trucks will be loaded at 5:00 p.m., and then the group will leave at 6:00 p.m. for Paintsville.

The group is accepting all donations except clothing, and recommends gift cards (Lowes, Wal-Mart, and Gas cards,) food, toiletries, hygiene products, and clean-up supplies, as well as cards and letters.  Anyone wanting to get involved is invited to contact Steve Cobb at 859-576-2958, or email  There is also a facebook page at
