LexCall to celebrate 3,110,000th call

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – LexCall has announced a celebration for answering a landmark number of calls during it’s time of service since 1997.  According to the agency LexCall (311,) has answered over 3,110,000 calls.  They say they broke the number sometime between 4:00 and 4:15 p.m. on June 30.

According to Customer Service Specialist Julie Terrell, the agency’s duties have changed since it was established.  "Originally, all we had were phone calls and paper forms.  Today, we enter the service requests directly into a computer, accept service requests online, and even have an app for cell phones."

These days, LexCall provides several services to the city, including: initiating service requests and electronically forwarding requests to the appropriate division, tracking the status of service requests and responses, serving as the clearinghouse of information and assistance for the city, assisting callers to navigate around the city, speaking to organizations and neighborhood associations, and answering calls for city divisions.

A celebration to mark the occasion will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15 in the LexCall office.
