FLORENCE, Ky. (WTVQ) – One of the Douglass Park shooting victims passed away on Thursday night, and his family asked for community support to handle the sudden funeral expenses.
The family of Lexington’s Kwame El-Amin has said that, due to his religious beliefs, El-Amin should be buried as quickly as possible. Due to the rush, they have not had much time to gather funds for the burial.
“We are an extremely private family; however, we realize that Kwame was an active member of his community and touched many lives.”
They hope to raise $20,000, and ask for prayers from the community to honor his passing.
